Wow, Whole30 week three is over! These 30 days are going by so fast. I know I’ve said it in my week one and week two recap posts but I’m feeling amazing! I’ve started to become much more creative in the kitchen. I’ve found recipes that are so tasty I don’t even miss the foods that they are substituting for. I don’t plan on sticking to a strict Whole30 diet after these 30 days are over but I do plan on keeping some of these meals in rotation and eat as whole as possible! Food shopping and cooking Whole30 are becoming so routine.
This might be TMI but I’m gonna say it anyway, because hey this is my piece of the internet…and I feel it is relevant. I literally was on my period last week and wasn’t bloated AT ALL! So maybe, my bloat isn’t ever from my period but more the foods I’m eating when I’m on my period. Food for thought people!
Ok back to my usual talk because I can’t get much more personal then that, can I! This week I tried to make a recipe I found on good old Pinterest and it was an epic fail. I followed the recipe word for word until it came to the spices. I didn’t have the ones she recommended so I made up a mixture of my own. That wasn’t the fail part because the food tasted delish. The fail, my butternut squash fritters did not stick together AT ALL. I don’t know how in the world she was able to make the perfect looking fritters from her Whole30 recipe. I’m linking it here so if you want to check it out, you can.
I wanted to be able to prep the fritters so that I could have some for a few days. Well, if they don’t stay together to make fritters than its pretty hard to store. They were mush. I kinda wish I would have taken a picture just so you could see the difference but I didn’t because well I was bummed they didn’t turn out the way they were supposed to.
This week I did some at home BBG workouts and I made it a point when I was watching TV whenever a commercial came on to either do some sit ups or hold a plank. When I was a ballet dancer I was always stretching or doing sit ups while watching TV. It was second nature to me to do so and somewhere along the years after I quit I lost that. So it is now one of my goals this year to bring back healthy habits like that. Does anyone else do that while watching TV? If so, what are your favorite things to do during the commercial breaks?!
