Today’s post is brought to you by the Gilroy Premium Outlets. As you all know, I’ve worked with them a number of times before. Most recently for their Summer of Likes shopping event a few months ago. When planning my trip to NYFW I pitched them an idea for coverage featuring the Gilroy Premium Outlet shops. It helped me focus while attending NYFW to find trends, colors, and styles I could work into my wardrobe now. Below is an outfit that I’ve put together that is inspired from the runway. I will share a picture from the runway and give my explanation on why I put together the outfit that I did. Please let me know if you enjoyed this style post, as I am already thinking of content for February!
Tadashi – Ombré Sequins + Celestial Theme
Sequins could be found all over the runway. It is definitely going to be a big trend for SS19 (Spring/Summer 2019). My first day of shows Tadashi Shoji showed a number of dresses featuring ombre sequins. I was so mesmerized by his collection that I knew I wanted to highlight a trend or two from his runway show. Not only were sequin dresses aplenty, but the celestial theme was prevalent. While wearing a sequin gown isn’t part of my day to day, I was determined to find an everyday way to wear inspired by his collection.
I found this ombré sequin top from Saks Off Fifth at the GPO (Gilroy Premium Outlets). I was immediately drawn to it and while the color combo isn’t identical it was a piece I could style for a date night and achieve the look I was going for. Next challenge was to find pants. As a mom, I have ditched anything low-mid-rise when it comes to pants. It’s high rise all the way!! Express has plenty of high rise pants options and they have an outlet store at the GPO but unfortunately did not have any high rise trousers when I was in store shopping. So I headed to the Banana Republic Factory store. Crossing my fingers they’d have what I wanted and low and behold, they did! Not quite trousers but more of a skinny leg legging/pant in the right shade of navy.
Since the celestial theme was carried throughout Tadashi’s collection I was next on the hunt for some celestial inspired jewelry. I found these star earrings at Francesca’s. They’re so lightweight and a great example of how easy it is right now to find star/celestial inspired wear. It’s been a big trend lately and clearly is going to be sticking around for a while longer. So, what do you think of this runway to everyday look? Totally wearable, right!
Top: Saks Off 5th (not available online). Pants: Banana Republic Factory Store. Shoes: Nine West, old pair I picked up at the GPO last year (similar option). Bag: Foley & Corinna c/o (found one for sale on eBay). Earrings: Francesca’s. Sunglasses: Tom Ford c/o.
